MTBS has released the remaining 716 fire mappings for 2018, bringing the total release for 2018 fires to 1,129. This release also includes a comprehensive reprocessing of the entire MTBS archive (1984 through 2018) to introduce consistent vector attribution and metadata updates, plus an additional 1540 new fire mappings and dozens of revisions to previously mapped fires spanning the archive. With this data release to MTBS.gov, the total number of fires mapped by the project increases to 25,614.
