This release also includes revisions to 399 previously mapped fires that are now updated in the archive. With this data release to MTBS.gov, the total number of fires mapped by the program increases to 30,418.
The MTBS Program team has released 397 newly mapped fires from 2020 fire season. The release includes severity data for fires located across several western states and Alaska. This data release is in addition to the 417 mapped fires from 2020 fire season that were located across 21 eastern and mid-western states that were released in February 2022.
